Rings: Wedding Rings

Period Wedding Rings, Unique Designs, Quality Craftsmanship

We make four patterns of wedding bands and matching solitaires: the Acorn & Oak Leaf, the La Tene Celtic, the Medieval Floral, and the Slavic Heritage. We are also in the process of introducing our new Wild Thistle wedding band pattern. [We are still working on this design...so, on average, Thistle wedding band orders will take twice as much time to complete as any of our other patterns.]

All of our wedding bands are available in 14k yellow, white, or rose gold. Our rings are cast from masters that are hand carved specifically to fit each size and therefore there are tiny variations between the sizes. For instance, an acorn and oak leaf band in size 13 will have more acorns and oak leaves than the same pattern in size 6. The style of the rings however is the same, and any two sizes will always be a perfect pairing.

In all custom work, ensuring a good fit is extremely important. We pride ourselves on making some of the most comfortable rings you will ever wear. All of our bands are comfort bands; this means that they are slightly rounded on the inside. This also means that your ring will not trap dampness between the interior of the band and your finger. Because of the variation in ring sizers, and the unique qualities of our own bands we like to measure everyone at least twice, preferably three times, before beginning work. Fingers can swell by more than a size in the course of a day, and we suggest that people be measured at different times of the day. If it is not possible for you to visit us in person at one of our events, we will send you a set of ring sizers with which to measure yourself. We suggest that you keep the ring sizers close at hand for a week or so and measure yourself at different times of the day before deciding on the size that is consistently most comfortable. Once you have selected your ring size and sent back the sizers, we can begin work.

It generally takes us at least three months to produce a set of rings. Because these rings are made to order, unless you are fortunate enough to fit one of our display models you will probably not be able to get your rings on the day of your wedding. We suggest that you be prepared to choose your ring style and be measured at least four months in advance of your wedding date. Our bands are also excellent for people renewing their vows or celebrating a special anniversary.

Matching solitaires or engagement rings are available in each of the ring patterns. The "look" of our solitaires varies tremendously depending on the individual stone chosen. Each solitaire is essentially a one-of-a-kind ring as there will never be another exactly the same. We have a wide variety of stones available for you to chose the perfect stone for you. Most of the solitaires shown on our website as examples of our past work feature natural saphires. Sapphires come in all colors and they are a beautiful and unique choice that is resilient enough for daily wear.

Due to the fluctuating price of gold and production costs, our ring prices have risen several times in recent years. [The cost of gold has roughly trippled over the past 8 years.] Currently (June, 2013) a set of two bands in 14k white or yellow gold -- provided that neither band is larger than a size 11 -- is $6,700. We charge a small premium for rings over a size 11 due to the extra gold. Rings in rose gold cost 30% more than yellow or white gold. The prices for solitaires vary depending on the stone chosen. All prices are subject to change due to fluctuating gold markets.
