A STYLE GUIDE FOR MODERN WOMEN
Popular since at least the middle of the 19th century –if old daguerrotypes are to be believed– the Victorian is a chic double-tailed style of wearing a long sash that is particularly attractive with a severely tailored top or a full skirt.
To wear: Wrap the middle of the sash around your waist three to five inches above your left hip. Toss the front end over your right shoulder. Pull the back of your sash over the front of your shoulder. Fasten and decorate with the sash pin of your choice.
Fashionista Tip:
Like the cinched in gathered look? Think it’s too impossible to pin it all? Once you’ve draped your sash across your shoulder twist a pipe cleaner around the shoulder gather and then pin your brooch over it!
Warning:
This style works best with an extra long sash. You should have at least a foot and a half of sash left to swing over both your front and back shoulder.
